The Christian Coalition of Alabama Cites Dedication to “Protecting Children” in Jay Mitchell Endorsement
BIRMINGHAM, AL—The Christian Coalition of Alabama today endorsed former Supreme Court Justice Jay Mitchell for Alabama Attorney General ahead of the June 16 runoff, citing his impressive professional record as well as serious concerns about his opponent's ties to the big tech industry.
"Jay Mitchell has shown throughout his career as an accomplished litigator and public servant that he will do what is right with integrity and grace, regardless of what political winds blow," said Executive Director Dr. Randy Brinson. "He has been a champion for protecting the unborn as well as our children who are defenseless against AI generated programs that promote violence and sexually explicit imagery. The Christian Coalition of Alabama fully and completely endorses his candidacy."
The Coalition's review revealed Katherine Robertson accepted donations from a TikTok lobbyist just weeks after Alabama sued the platform for predatory and deceptive practices—which Brinson called a "blatant conflict of interest." He also made note that the Robertson campaign maintains close ties with a prominent Roblox lobbyist, raising concerns about her office’s extremely recent pre-litigation settlement with Roblox. Roblox has been sued by 11 Republican Attorneys General across the country for providing child predators with access to their platform. Alabama settled.
Mitchell welcomed the CCA endorsement. “There is no higher calling of the Attorney General than to protect Alabama’s children. As the father of four incredible kids, I’ve seen firsthand the dangers they face online. Alabama can count on me to bring the heart of a dad to the fight to keep our kids safe.”
Dr. Brinson said, "Justice Mitchell brings decades of litigation experience and the highest ethical ratings," Brinson noted. "Alabama needs an Attorney General with a proven record of excellence, not someone beholden to companies that prey on our children."
The runoff election is Tuesday, June 16, 2026.
