Shelby County Sheriff John Samaniego Endorses Jay Mitchell for Alabama Attorney General

BIRMINGHAM, AL—Shelby County Sheriff John Samaniego today announced his endorsement of former Alabama Supreme Court Justice Jay Mitchell in the race for Attorney General. Sheriff Samaniego leads one of Alabama’s largest Republican counties and has earned a reputation as one of the state’s most trusted voices for law enforcement. 

A career law enforcement officer with a Juris Doctorate from the Birmingham School of Law, Sheriff Samaniego brings extensive field experience and legal acumen to his role. His endorsement is a strong signal of confidence in Mitchell’s ability to serve as the state’s top lawyer. 

Sheriff Samaniego cited Mitchell’s judicial record and steadfast conservative principles as key reasons for his endorsement:
