Lawrence County Sheriff Max Sanders Backs Jay Mitchell for Alabama Attorney General

BIRMINGHAM, AL—Lawrence County Sheriff Max Sanders today announced his endorsement of Jay Mitchell for Alabama Attorney General. First elected in 2018, Sheriff Sanders is a highly respected leader in the Alabama law enforcement community and has improved public safety services in Lawrence County during his time as Sheriff.

Sheriff Sanders said, “Jay Mitchell understands the realities that officers face in communities like ours. Here in Lawrence County, we depend on strong partnerships and need an Attorney General who we can deliver meaningful support from Montgomery. There simply isn’t a better partner for law enforcement than Jay Mitchell. It is my privilege to offer him my full endorsement.” 

Sheriff Sanders has led major advancements for Lawrence County such as regional 911 consolidation, streamlined departmental operations, and strengthened coordination between local, state, and federal partners—efforts credited with faster response times and stronger protections for families and businesses.
