“Free State of Winston” Sheriff Caleb Snoddy Endorses Jay Mitchell for Alabama Attorney General

BIRMINGHAM, AL—Winston County Sheriff Caleb Snoddy today announced his endorsement of Jay Mitchell for Alabama Attorney General. Widely regarded as the most conservative county in Alabama, “The Free State of Winston” is famed for its fierce spirit of independence and law and order.

Sheriff Snoddy began his career in Winston County as a Corrections Officer. He rose through the ranks to become Chief Deputy and was eventually elected Sheriff in 2023. He has earned the trust of his community through a skillful approach to reducing crime. His team regularly executes high-impact arrests, seizing illegal drugs and taking violent criminals off the streets. His bold, proactive approach to policing has led directly to a lower crime rate and higher quality of life for residents of Winston County.

Sheriff Snoddy said, “My job as Winston County Sheriff is simple: put away bad guys and make our communities safe. Jay shares that same boots-on-the-ground mentality. He’ll be the partner Alabama Sheriffs need in Montgomery—he has my full confidence and support.

Beyond the badge, Sheriff Snoddy has become a fixture in the community, where he promotes public safety and traditional values that resonate in the heart of Winston County. Sheriff Snoddy said, “I’m proud to support Jay Mitchell because I think we deserve an Attorney General that’s as conservative as we are.

Jay Mitchell said, “Caleb Snoddy doesn’t flinch. If you’re in trouble, he’s the one you want kicking in the door and coming to help. I’m inspired by his leadership and honored to have his endorsement. We’ll work together to make sure Alabama law enforcement officers have what they need to keep fighting the good fight.

Sheriff Snoddy’s endorsement adds to a growing coalition of law enforcement leaders across Alabama who trust Jay Mitchell to fight crime and back the blue.
