Cullman Police Chief Joey Duncan Endorses Jay Mitchell for Alabama Attorney General
BIRMINGHAM, AL—Cullman Police Chief Joey Duncan today announced his endorsement of Jay Mitchell for Alabama Attorney General. Cullman is one of Alabama’s fastest growing cities, and as such, reports an impressively low crime rate.
Chief Duncan said his decision to endorse hinged on Mitchell’s exceptional record of leadership and courtroom experience: “I took one look at Jay’s record and understood why he’s the right person for the job. What law enforcement needs is an Attorney General who will win for us in court, build for us in Montgomery, and stand with us in the line of fire. There’s no one better equipped to do that than Jay Mitchell. I’m thrilled to support him as our next Attorney General. ”
Mitchell thanked Chief Duncan for his endorsement and emphasized how closely Duncan’s priorities align with his mission for the state.
Mitchell said, “I am so proud to have Chief Duncan’s support. His leadership shows what strong policing can do for a community,” said Mitchell. “Cullman is growing, thriving, and safe—and that’s no coincidence. Chief Duncan and his team work tirelessly to equip their officers and maintain strong relationships with their community. As Attorney General, I’ll replicate those priorities statewide. Every Alabama family deserves to feel as secure as the families in Cullman.”
Earlier this week, the Cullman City Council voted unanimously to renew Chief Duncan’s appointment. He continues to serve and protect the people of Cullman with distinction. His endorsement adds to a growing coalition of law enforcement leaders across Alabama who trust Jay Mitchell to fight crime and back the blue.
