District Attorney Scott Slatton Endorses Jay Mitchell for Attorney General

BIRMINGHAM, AL—District Attorney Scott Slatton, who serves Alabama’s 25th Judicial Circuit in Marion and Winston counties, today announced his endorsement of Jay Mitchell for Attorney General.

A veteran prosecutor and respected voice in North Alabama law enforcement, Slatton has built a reputation for being a no-nonsense prosecutor and is known for his focus on protecting victims and holding criminals accountable. He said Alabama needs an Attorney General with real courtroom experience to bring a fresh perspective to the office.

“Jay Mitchell is the only candidate in this race with real courtroom experience,” said Slatton. “He’s tried cases, handled complex litigation, and served as a judge on the Alabama Supreme Court. Alabama needs new leadership in the Attorney General’s Office, and Jay brings the requisite experience and work ethic to provide it. He’s earned my enthusiastic support.”

Mitchell said he was honored to receive Slatton’s endorsement.
